Hello!!!!
This is a photo of a small piece I sent in to a magazine challenge. Don't know if it'll be chosen, but it was sure fun to make!
This weekend is the Boulder City Art Guild's Winterfest show. I'll be participating in this wonderful event and hope you'll all come out and enjoy a great fine art show. I'll be including my jewelry this year so there will be good opportunities to get a head start on some Christmas gift shopping! The show is in the Boulder City Rec Center on Arizona St., Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm. Hope to see you there!

Yes, I'm Still On Halloween! :-)
Yes, Halloween is still in my mind so I decided to add 'Bella's' picture here today. She's an adorable kitchen witch made entirely by me! She was so much fun to make. You can check her out in my etsy shop where you can read the details of her construction and the poem that goes with her.

Yippee for Halloween!
I was recently reminded by a fellow artisan that it's time to start crafting for Halloween!!!!
Woo-hoo!!! I LOVE Halloween!! I love witches, and goblins. I love ghosts and ghouls. I love spooky stories. I love withered trees with branches that look like fingers. ...and I love candy corn!
Halloween also comes at my favorite time of year. I don't know if it's because I was born in the Fall that I love the season so much, but I do. The crisp air, the turning of the leaves, the smell of cooking things we couldn't cook during the Summer because we didn't want to heat up the oven, the sound of quarterbacks calling plays again....all this I love.
Ok, I know it's only the end of July, but Fall is closer every day and I'm thrilled about the nearing of my favorite season. Gosh...I'd better getting started on those Fall and Halloween art and crafting projects....ooooh, and some devilishly beautiful jewelry! My mind is spinning with ideas!
ps. the 'Jack' picture here is one of my watercolor paintings. I sell prints on Halloween cards in my etsy shop so check them out. I'll also be listing some Halloween creations there, too, so keep watching. etsy.com/shop/fayealane

Sari Silk, Crocheted Cuff Bracelet
A crocheted cuff bracelet with vintage lace and dragonfly and butterfly charms! Recycled Sari Silk from India is the fabrci used. Recycling is especially wonderful when something beautiful is made from the material. This is approximately 10' long and 2" wide. It is lined with a hand sewn pink fleece for comfort.
This is for sale in my etsy shop at etsy.com/shop/fayealane

Blossom Art!
Blossom, Mixed Media Art Quilt
This Art Quilt is something new! It's approximately 13" x 15" in size and hangs from an antique gold chain. It is a tea-dyed whole cloth quilt with collaged elements. The Dragonfly is drawn and painted on tissue paper and decoupaged to the fabric. The Flower is battenburg lace, also decoupaged and painted, then sewed. The flower's leaves are painted papers and the stem is also painted in place. The word 'blossom' is a puffed quilt piece I hand stitched and then machine quilted to the whole. The entire piece is machine quilted to show off the various sections.
This piece is for sale in my etsy store: www.etsy.com/shop/Fayealane
I have lots of other things listed there, too. Stop by and see what's new!

Happy 4th of July!!!
I hope everyone out there has very happy and safe holiday!
Today I'll be working on organizing my studio....something I need to do occasionally as I tend to get messy when creating. :-) Later this evening we'll go watch fireworks, weather permitting. It's been very stormy here in Boulder City, NV the past 2 days, something that happens this time of year, though the monsoon season does seem to be here a bit early this year. Still crazy hot, though...110!!! and now muggy. People are always saying to me that I shouldn't complain about the heat in the Las Vegas area because it's a 'dry' heat. My rebuttal "Hot is hot!" Once it's over 100 it's just plain hot! The storms are a pleasant change but I hope it doesn't make the firework show impossible. I do love fireworks!
So, everyone take care and have a fun Holiday!

Just a Hello
No dramatic news....no earth-shattering events...no terrifying occurances.....NICE!
Sometimes it's wonderful to be boring! Ha-ha!
I changed the profile pictures today. The main picture is of an Angel Wish Box I created for a friend. It turned out really well! If anyone would like to purchase one just let me know. It's about 8" tall and the little wood box is about 3" x 4". Her head, hands and feet are polymer clay. Her body is wire and fabric. I made it all! No two will ever be exactly alike. She'll sell for $15.00 US dollars. Shipping would be calculated based on buyer's location. So send me an email and we can do business! :-)
The second picture changed is of my sister and myself. I'm the one with dark hair. We're in Chicago in this photo with the beautiful Chicago skyline behind us. I love Chicago!

A New Year! So Many New Opportunities!
Each new year is a new beginning....but of what? New thoughts? New goals? New waistline measurement? :-) I wish everyone who reads this an exciting (safe and happy) new adventure this year!
I will be working toward adding many more works of art and fine craft here for all to view...and purchase if liked!
Thank you to all...and to all a goodnight.... ;-)

Nelson's Landing
Spent the morning taking photos at Nelson in the El Dorado Valley near Boulder City, NV. Great pictures that will inspire great paintings....I hope! :-) An interesting place, this. A large gold mining community at one time, now a touristy stop on the way to practically no where! There are mine tours and some river rafting available, so it is worth the trip, but be aware that although you have access to the river below Hoover Dam there is no camping allowed because of the extreme danger of flash floods. Apparently, some years ago there were a lot of people killed there because a flash flood occurred and drowned the unsuspecting victims who were near the river. A very sad tale.
Back to happier thoughts! A lovely day and beautiful photos for inspiration!
Talk to you soon. :-)

Working on a painting of Hoover Dam and the new bypass!
Seems everyone is excited to see pictures of the new Hoover Dam bypass bridge. I decided a painting of these two modern marvels might be of some interest to locals and tourists alike! I'll upload a picture of the paintings when it's done so keep watching my blog. :-)

My Bonanzle Site
Hi there,
Just wanted to remind everyone that I also sell my work on the Bonanzle website. Just click on the link below to go to my booth there. This is a really good site with a lot of interesting things for sale...not just mine, though I'd be thrilled if you found something of mine that you couldn't live without! :-)

Another Day!
Day Two and still trying to get this blog up and running. Finally, after many tries, I was able to get my slideshow playing! A great accomplishment...I'm an artist, NOT a techy! Now working on the adsense thing.... :-( Hoping I did it right and ads will appear soon.
My art is also being shown in two Galleries in Boulder City, NV. The Corner Gallery on Arizona Street has several paintings and Eclectica on the Nevada Hwy (main street) also has several of my works. I'm very excited to be in two locations!
I am participating in the Boulder City Art in the Park event this coming October, 2nd and 3rd. I'll update you all with info...what booth number, etc. as the event nears. This is a wonderful event that benefits the Boulder City Hospital so everyone please come out and support this worth while event and plan to stop by and say hi to me!
